Once a year, DenverJUG trades the usual talk format for something a little more relaxed: a holiday get-together where the focus is on food, conversation, and catching up with people from across the local Java and software community, rather than a formal presentation.
It’s a chance to meet people you might only otherwise see for twenty minutes before a talk starts, swap stories about what everyone’s been working on over the past year, and enjoy some good food and drinks courtesy of the group’s sponsors.
These gatherings tend to draw a wider mix of people than a typical technical meeting, including folks from neighboring user groups, which makes for good conversation and a nice reminder of how connected the Denver tech community really is.
