Every so often a scheduled talk falls through: a speaker gets sick, travel plans change, something comes up. This was one of those months where the planned session on Cloud Foundry had to be called off.
Rather than let the topic go to waste, it’s worth touching on why Cloud Foundry was worth talking about in the first place. As a platform-as-a-service, it represents a broader shift in how teams think about deploying and operating applications: instead of managing servers directly, developers hand off a lot of the operational burden to the platform and focus more of their attention on the application itself.
